Happy Sunday, People!
My take on a few of the past weeks events… Got your coffee? Let's do this!
Many of the reactions on the SCOTUS rulings from this week were upset and questioning, and understandably so. I don't know if people in general understand how this was possible. The cold hard truth is that it’s through the people’s voting, and most of all not voting, these judges were appointed. And they do exactly what one can expect from them, their track records speaks volumes. So I don't know, perhaps this should be a “you reap what you sow” moment… And for next time, vote like your democracy and liberties depends on it - because they do. Obviously.
Of course, now everyone wonders why the so called leaders don't do more, in big as well as small issues. Why can't the elected officials stop rulings like the one's from SCOTUS, and why don't they interfere politically in the war Russia - Ukraine, why don't they make rules and laws that prevents the overturn of Roe v Wade for example, and why don't they… You get the idea.
I don't have a smart answer, I am surprised that so few leaders speak up and out, that so few take a stand and doesn't back down. Where are THOSE leaders? The ballsy ones with a spine and a fuckitall attitude? I really want to know too.
What else happened this week?
The tasteless jokes and disrespectful attitude too many showed in regards to the Titan tragedy - it infuriated me that it's somehow ok because they were rich. It's never ok. Never! Do better.
An asteroid the size of a bus went just by us. Makes you feel very small, doesn't it? You probably wouldn't have known what happened. I wonder if that isn't the best way though? Or am I too morbid now?
And I was really disappointed that the Wagner mercenaries didn't get to take over Russia, a little revolutionary action in the Red Square sounded so appealing. A possible end to the war in Ukraine was the biggest hope though, I am sure a lot of people agree. I wonder what they had on Yevgeny Prigozhin that made him give up so easely? It must have been something really good, or nasty - depending on your viewpoint.
For next week I would love to be able to wish for some love, light, and peace on earth. But I suspect we'll get more of the same, just different flavors…
